How to remove the Gemini watermark

Where is the Gemini watermark?

Gemini stamps a small, semi-transparent four-point sparkle near the bottom-right corner. Because it is blended over the picture with a fixed transparency, the tool can compute the original pixels exactly instead of guessing them.

What this tool does, and what it doesn’t

It removes the visible Gemini mark from content you generated yourself, for example to use a clip in a presentation, a thumbnail or an edit. It does not touch invisible provenance signals, and it is not for stock photos or anyone else’s copyrighted work. If you publish AI-generated media, label it as AI-generated where your platform or local law requires it.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the result lossless?

The sparkle is mixed into the image with a known transparency pattern. Reversing that mix mathematically restores the pixels that were underneath, so nothing is invented by an AI model.

What if the image was cropped or resized?

Automatic mode expects the original Gemini export. If the image was cropped, resized or re-compressed and a trace remains, switch to "Select area" mode and paint over the leftover mark.

Does this remove SynthID or other invisible watermarks?

No, and it is not designed to. The tool only cleans up the visible logo. SynthID lives in the pixels and stays in place, and for images the file’s C2PA content credentials are copied into the cleaned file, so it can still be identified as AI-generated. Cleaned videos are re-encoded and don’t carry over the original file’s metadata yet.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Processing runs on your own device inside the browser tab. Your image or video is never sent to our servers, and closing the tab discards it.
